Paul Z. Vereb's Obituary
Paul Z. Vereb, Sr., age 85 of Milton, DE, passed away on Wednesday, May 19, 2010, at his residence. Born Wednesday, April 8, 1925 in Cleveland, OH he was the son of the late Paul and Jolanda (Komaniche) Vereb and was the brother of the late William Joseph "Bela" Vereb.
Paul was a member of the Carpenters Union #214 of Lebanon, PA and spent his life working with wood. He did all types of woodworking; he could take any object and recreate it in wood. He also worked as a first mate on Lewes' fishing boats making all necessary repairs. He loved to fish and was as expert fish cleaner. He was a real “Jack-of-All-Trades.”
Surviving is his wife of 60 years, Ann C. (Batula) Vereb; three sons: Paul Z. Vereb, Jr. of Middletown, PA, David Vereb and Stephen Vereb, both of Milton, DE; two daughters: Carol Long and her husband Randolph of Hershey, PA and Paula Wolfe and her husband Michael of East Petersburg, PA;, 11 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
There will be no public visitation. The family will schedule a burial at sea with Captain Bill Cheyney on the "Stephanie Anne" at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes, DE.
Family suggests memorial contributions be made to VITAS Innovative Hospice Care, 1016 N. Walnut Street, Milford, DE 19963 or to the U.S. Coast Guard, M. S. D., 802 Pilottown Road, Lewes, DE 19958.
