Paul Randel Flanegan's Obituary
Paul Randel Flanegan, age 96 of Millsboro, DE, passed away on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at Cadia Rehabilitation Renaissance Healthcare. He was born on May 17, 1925, in Columbus, NJ, son of the late Arthur and Blanche Flanegan.
Mr. Flanegan was a proud veteran, having honorably served in the US Navy. He was employed by Synthane Corp. in Oaks, PA and retired in 1988, after 45 dedicated years as an electrian. He was a faithful member of Phoenixville United Methodist Church in Phoenixville, PA, Fearless Fire Company in Allentown, PA, The Owls Club in Gablesville, PA, the Polish Club in Reading, PA, and senior centers in both Boyerstown and Pottstown, PA. Mr. Flanegan had many different interests and hobbies. He loved all things outdoors and enjoyed hiking and nature walks with his family. He was an enthusiastic dancer and liked to travel whenever possible. Mr. Flanegan was very handy and did all the maintenance work on both of his homes. He was an avid animal lover and adored his cats and dogs. Above all, Mr. Flanegan cherished time spent with those he held most dear. He was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Flanegan was preceded in death by his wife, Anne Susan Flanagan; his companion and dance partner, Edith Reid; and his brothers: Arthur Flanegan, Eugene Flanegan, Oscar Flanegan, and Harold Flanegan. He is survived by his daughters: Barbara Polenghi (Carlo) of Stuart, FL, Susan Mitchell (John) of Lewes, DE, and Kathleen Gallagher (John) of Pottstown, PA; his 6 grandchildren; and his 9 great-grandchildren.
