Dear Family - We were so shocked to learn of Paul's death. He was always such
an interesting person to visit with and we enjoyed seeing him at Smith's restaurant and
sometimes he came to our class luncheons (1956) at Stargate. We sent to our our
deepest sympathy and know how much he will surely be missed by you and his friends.

I met Paul when I was about 17 years old as he offered to take his brother, Kenny, and me on a trip to a New York Race Track. He was pulling a trailer up there for some reason, I did not know the reason but I had never been to N.Y. so it was exciting for me as well as for Kenny. Paul offered to buy us two (that was two for each of us at one sitting) roast beef w/gravy and mashed potatoes dinners as incentive for accompanying him on the trip. I really appreciated that; however, little did he know that I would love going on the trip in the first place with or without the extra meals! I haven't been around Paul much over the years, but he certainly made a lasting and positive impression on me! Please accept condolences from my wife, Carol, and me and I am confident that we have lost a good person in Paul Garey!

Mrs. Helen Garey, immediate family, and brother and sisters: My wife Cheryl and I will be unable to attend the visitation or the funeral services for Paul, however we did want to share a few words with the family.
I have known the Garey family for practically all of my 75 years. My wife reminded me that Paul was a customer that she dealt with during her career with the Felton Bank and the bank that has succeeded it (Shore United Bank). She told me on more than one instance that Paul would wait for her to take care of his transactions. He told her that he would not want anyone else to take care of his business. This made her feel very good and she always got a "kick" out of waiting on him. And....he always asked how I was doing since he was aware of the hip and knee problems that I have dealt with for quite some time.
Cheryl and I realize that there is very little that we can say or do at this particular time to ease the grief that surely the Garey family is dealing with at this time. We sincerely hope that the period of grief will be short and soon be replaced by fond memories.
Paul is the kind of guy that it will be difficult to forget. He was unique in so many ways and had talents that many are not fortunate to have. We have always felt that if you met Paul you would never forget him! That is the way we feel at this particular time. We consider it a privilege to have known him and shared some time with him. Please be assured that each of the Garey family members will be in our prayers during this difficult time. Paul will be missed!!!

Sorry to hear of Paul's passing! I always liked hearing Paul and Donnie's stories while shoeing their horses. I enjoyed watching Paul at the swap meets, he never met a stranger. May peace be with his family members during this difficult time.
