Paul E. Freet, 84, of Lewes, DE, formerly of the Roxborough section of Philadelphia, PA, passed away in peace on Tuesday, May 3, 2016, and is now reunited with his wife, the late Anne J. Freet. Paul is survived by his children, Ka Read Obituary
I have lots of great memories of Anne and Paul. Some of the best times we had were our vacations in Wildwood; and watching college basketball together. Paul was not only my sister's husband, but he was also her best friend. And after the death of my father, he was like a father to me. Paul will be missed, but never forgotten. I will always remember our food shopping trips to the A & P with mommy and without fail there was always a bag of cookies or pretzels just for us to sample. Love you dad. Rest in peace.
One of my favorite stories involves my Dad and my late cat Figaro. Figaro liked to sneak out and roam the neighborhood. One night while I was at work Figaro figured out if you hit the screen right in the middle it would fall out. And out he went. My Dad got home and could not find him so he walked up and down the streets of our development at midnight yelling Figaro Figaro Figaro. I can't imagine what the neighbors thought. He waited up for me to get home to tell me. We laughed and laughed. Rest in peace Dad. I will miss you but I know you are with Mom and probably have already told her this story and are both laughing now.
Paul and the Freet family: Your Dad and Mom are now reunited forever; at peace and free of earthly pain. Like so many of their generation, your parents impressed me as a hard working and loving couple who understood the importance of family and sacrifice, who found time for a few laughs along the way. And your Dad and Mom both had good, hearty laughs. I remember their laughter as I see them in the front seat of THE BIG GREEN station wagon, taking Paul, myself and others to another CYO basketball game for IHM. Thank you Mr. Freet.
