Patrick A. Newcomb's Obituary
Patrick "Pat" Newcomb, 76, of Greenwood, Delaware, passed away on June 5, 2026. Born on September 28, 1949, in Lewes, Delaware, Pat lived a life marked by devotion to family, service to country, and a quiet, steady warmth that touched all who knew him.
Pat proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marines. Following his years of service, he settled into a life enriched by simple pleasures and meaningful connections. Pat was a man who loved working with his hands, whether he was tending to his garden, spending time under the hood of a car, or enjoying visits to Grotto's, one of his favorite places to gather and unwind.
Pat was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jeanette Newcomb; his parents, Harold Newcomb and Margaret Polite Newcomb; his brother, Harold Newcomb Jr.; and his sister, Kathleen Newcomb Hazel.
He is survived by his step-daughter, Tanya Reed and her husband Michael Reed; granddaughter Tonya Hudson; his daughters Belinda Legnon, Tammy Marks, and Christine Merritt; his sons, Patrick Grinolds and Scott Newcomb; his sister, Judith Newcomb Lee; and his dear friend, Roland Horsey; along with numerous grandchildren and extended family members who will carry his memory forward.
His legacy of service, love, and humble devotion will not be forgotten.
A private graveside service will be held in his honor.
