Patricia Marie Wilson's Obituary
Patricia Marie Leach Wilson, of Lewes, Delaware, passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2009 at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes. She was the daughter of the late Mary Hall Leach and Sandford Burdette Leach of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware Born November 19, 1946 in Washington, DC, Patricia lived most of her life in Haverford and Bryn Mawr. Pennsylvania.
Pat graduated from Rosemont College in 1968. For many years she worked at Johnson & Higgins in various positions. She was an enrolled actuary and actively participated in rate setting for many major insurance companies. Later she headed her own firm, Associates & Wilson in Rosemont, PA. Patricia was viewed as an authoritative source on pharmacy and medical management. Her name often appeared in the media. Pat testified before Congress and the Financial Accounting Standards Board on both pension and healthcare issues. She has chaired many national conferences on topics ranging from disease to drug formulary management. Patricia appeared on national radio and television shows such as NPR's Marketplace and the Wall Street Journal Report, addressing a wide range of topics. Because of her drug focus, she was frequently quoted on topics ranging from the acquisition of Pharmacy Benefit Managers to managing drugs under national health care proposals.
She is survived by her life partner, George B. Merchant of Lewes, her former husband, David L. Wilson, Jr. of Rosemont, her loving son, David L. Wilson. Ill of Marina del Rey, CA and her caring daughter Meredith Ann Merchant of Upper Saddle River. NJ. She also is survived by her sister, Sandra Molyneaux (Larry Ellis), her brother, Richard Leach (Laura), and 14 nephews and nieces.
