Patricia Lynn Triplett's Obituary
Patricia "Patti" Lynn Triplett, 61, of Harbeson, Delaware, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, September 4, 2025. She was the beloved wife of Richard Alan Triplett.
Born on February 24, 1964, she was the daughter of Anthony "AJ" Bettencourt and the late Jane (Natalino) Bettencourt. Patti graduated from Rockville High School, after which she found her passion for nurturing the lives of children. She opened and operated her own in-home childcare center for 20 years, allowing her to raise her own children at home while teaching and caring for many others. Patti then continued her teaching journey by pursuing a career in the Frederick County, MD, school system as a Special Education Instructional Assistant for 13 years.
Throughout her life, Patti and her family made countless memories together—making homemade crafts, traveling up and down the East Coast for camping trips, and relaxing and dancing on Caribbean cruises. She retired in 2021 when she and Richard moved to Delaware to follow their dream of living at the beach. Patti had many hobbies and an enthusiastic love for crafts—she painted seashells she collected from the ocean, taught herself how to design embroidery, and could always be found in the kitchen baking or preparing dishes using herbs from her garden.
Patti's family brought her immense pride and joy. She was a devoted and supportive wife to her husband Richard, whom she married on July 12, 1986. Patti was a loving mom to their three children: Brittney Vieweg and her husband Gregory, Brett Triplett and his wife Jenna, and Bradey Triplett and his fiancée Kyla. She greatly cherished her role as a grandmother to Kyrian, Bryce, Paisley, and Brynlee. Patti is also survived by her brother Anthony "TJ" Bettencourt and his wife Diana, and her brother James "Jim" Bettencourt and his wife Kris.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE 19958, where friends and family may visit beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will be held privately.
