Patricia P. McGown's Obituary
Patricia (Purcell) McGown, age 70, of Lewes, DE passed away peacefully on Monday, February 18, 2008 at her residence surrounded by her loved ones. Mrs. McGown was born September 26, 1937 in Washington, DC, daughter of the late James A. and Miriam (Jarnagin) Purcell.
Mrs. McGown retired from the Federal government in 1982 after 22 years of service. She had worked at the Pentagon, in Dallas, TX and the former Brooks Air Force Base, San Antonio, TX. She was a Leader with her bible study fellowship group. She loved to crochet and was very fond of her pet schnauzer, Dede. Pat was a very loving person who could light up any room she entered.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Mike Sipich. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, David D. McGown, Sr.; her son David D. McGown, Jr. of Lewes; her daughter Debbie DeRossett and her husband Brent of Springfield, MO; two grandchildren, Garrett DeRossett and Regan DeRossett; and her brother James Purcell of Sylvania, OH.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 21, 3 PM, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE with Pastor David Monro officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Final services and interment will take place in Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 20167 Office Circle, Georgetown, DE 19947.
