Patricia Ann Latoroco's Obituary
Always in our hearts
Patricia “Pat” Ann Latoroco, 84, of Laurel, DE, a truly beautiful mother, friend, and mentor, gained her wings and made her journey to Heaven on Friday, May 15, 2026, while at home with her family.
Born June 12, 1941, in Chester, PA, to John and Elsie Zosh, Pat attended Chester High School and later ambitiously worked to acquire her GED. In 1957, Pat married the love of her life, John, and together they raised four children in Chester before later moving to Aston, PA. Pat worked as an Administrative Assistant and Recreational Planner for Chester Housing Authority and later worked in sales at Kmart. Her love for children extended over many years as she established and ran her own childcare service in her home.
Pat was the true matriarch of the family. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Pat took care of everyone, and so many trusted her for advice and counsel. She dedicated her life to raising her four children while creating a warm, welcoming home that became the neighborhood gathering place. Her children hold many fond memories of family picnics and summers spent toting all four children to the swim club.
Pat loved to cook, and there was always a home-cooked meal waiting for anyone who visited. She loved spending holidays with family and friends, hosting grand celebrations. Pat enjoyed gardening, dancing, reading, and endless games of Scrabble. She kept a meticulous home and enjoyed cleaning. Pat was an unstoppable force who was truly one of a kind.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, John and Elsie Zosh; stepfather, Bill Peters; grandparents, Mitchell and Patricia Krawczk; sister, Joann Jabkowski; brother, Jack Zosh; granddaughter, Carrie Meyer; and great-granddaughter, Emerson Rider.
Pat is survived by her husband, John, of 69 years; children Donna Fleitz, Sandra Rider and husband Kevin, John Latoroco Jr. and wife Mary, and Anthony Latoroco; grandchildren Catherine Fleitz, John DiStefano, Ashley Gillooly (Patrick), Kevin Rider Jr. (Maggie), Jennifer Bachulski (Terry), Amber McCarrey (Joe), Anthony Latoroco Jr., and Dylan Latoroco; and great-grandchildren Alexsandra, Jack, John, Sean, Sydney, Peter, Penelope, James, Patrick, Harley, Fallon, Kari, Autumn, Aiden and Sophia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on June 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 152 Tulip Avenue, Lewes, DE 19958. Visitation will be held at the church beginning at 10:00 a.m.
