Pat was such a good friend to my parents. I always loved being in her company - whether for book club, cocktails or whatever. Someone else noted her laughter was powerfully charming. Eason and Diana had such great adventures with your parents. Canada, biking, etc. This note is very disjointed but I just want to tell you how much I loved both your parents happy that our family got to spend time with them
We are saddened to learn of the passing of your Mother, Patricia Coleman Gehron. We still use the waffle iron your parents gave us 32 years ago, on Sunday mornings. I knew Mrs. Gehron primarily when I was a child. Her cat would come across the street to hang out with me and I would go across the street to hang out with her daughter. Mrs. Gehron was often in her tennis whites and laughing her wonderful, robust laugh. After we moved away, I did not see her again until I was a young adult. She was still playing tennis and laughing a lot, but I now had a deeper appreciation of just how cool she was. She was funny, gracious, down-to-earth and would tell wonderfult stories (and make the best cocktails). Although I have not seen her for a long time, her spirit is still vivid in my memories.

We had just moved into our house in Alexandria. It was a beautiful, warm day during a February thaw when I looked across the street and there was Pat sitting on the front step reading a book in the sun. The front door was open and one could just see the vacuum cleaner standing there, forgotten. There was a woman I had to meet. And so began many, many years of treasured friendship with Pat and all the Gehron family.
We know how much you will miss her, as we will, too.
