Patricia Forestieri's Obituary
Patricia Forestieri, age 79, of Lewes, DE, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 30, 2021 surrounded by her children. She was born in Nottingham Twp., PA on May 14, 1941.
Patricia lived a lifetime filled with many memorable experiences. Professionally, she held various administrative positions at different companies including her first at DuPont in Wilmington, DE, and her longest running with the family landscaping business. Personally, she enjoyed music, dancing, fishing, boating, bowling, and golf with her husband, crocheting cozy gifts for her family, card games and puzzles, and baking sweet treats including her famous pizzelle cookies. The youngest of seven children, she was very practiced at “going with the flow” and was often happy to find her place enjoying and witnessing the pursuits of her children and grandchildren. She attended and volunteered at countless sporting and school events to show her support for her children and community. Her greatest endeavor was her devotion to her family. Patricia was the epitome of unconditional love for those she loved. She was a tireless listener whether the occasion called for sharing joy, excitement, sympathy, or sorrow. She would often tell her children and grandchildren “you can do anything you put your mind to!” She never wavered in supporting her family’s life choices even if she could not relate to them personally. It was not her style to judge, only to hold her loved ones’ wishes in her heart as she knew they each had a journey all their own to embark upon. She had a calm, quiet, optimism and sense of humor that she readily shared. Although she lived each day with humility, she had an abundance of courage. It takes an enormous amount of strength to support the hopes and dreams of an entire family and still have enough left to fight for more time to offer them. Patricia lived, loved, and left this life with grace. She will be so dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Patricia was preceded in death by her loving husband John Forestieri, Sr., and her son Mac Mullin. She is survived by her children, John Forestieri, Jr. and wife Cindy, Christine Abel, Diane Recinos and husband Edwin, Julie Egolf and husband Bradley, Steve Forestieri; grandchildren, Leland and wife Rhianna, Courtney and husband Anthony, Erica, Tyler, Alicia, Logan; great grandchildren, Hannah, Oran, Aidan, Blaine, Landon, Carter; sister-in-law, Frieda; and nieces, nephews, and other adopted family and friends along the way.
Interment will be private at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.
Memorial donations, in honor of Patricia, can be to the American Cancer Society, or a local charitable organization of choice.
