Patricia B. Dobrydnio's Obituary
Patricia “Tricia” B. Dobrydnio of Lewes, Delaware, passed away peacefully at the age of 78 on April 29, 2025, after a long illness. Born on February 17, 1947, in Boston, Massachusetts, she was the beloved daughter of the late Walter T. and Marguerite C. Brewin.
Tricia earned her Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) degree from Seton Hall University and dedicated her life to helping others as a psychologist, specializing in family therapy with a focus on addiction. In addition to her private practice, Tricia served as a professor at Seton Hall University where she shared her passion for psychology with the next generation. Her compassionate spirit, intelligence, and commitment to healing made a lasting impact on countless lives.
On July 4, 1970, Tricia married the love of her life, Stanley A. Dobrydnio, Jr. in Short Hills, New Jersey. Together, they built a life rooted in love, mutual respect, and shared humor and joy.
Tricia had many passions that brought her joy outside of her professional life. She was an avid gardener, a dedicated participant in water aerobics at Sussex Academy, and a voracious reader. She enjoyed playing bridge, tackling word games, and spending time with her beloved dog, Daisy Belle. Tricia’s warmth, wit, and kindness touched all who knew her.
Tricia is survived by her devoted husband, Stanley A. Dobrydnio, Jr.; her daughter, Margaret “Meg” Motes; her son-in-law, Scott Motes; and her cherished granddaughter, Alexis Motes.
A celebration of Tricia’s life will be announced at a later date.
In the last years of her life, Tricia became passionate about supporting retired law enforcement and military working dogs given her "grand dogs" Tank and Raul's service as explosive detection dogs. As a result, the family is asking in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Tricia’s memory to Paws of Honor, 263 McLaws Circle, Suite 104, Williamsburg, VA 23185. Phone: 703-403-8281.
