Patricia Ellen Craddock's Obituary
Patricia Ellen Craddock passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at her home in Milton, DE. She was born in Washington, DC on December 27, 1956, to Francis Jr. and Janette Showalter.
Patricia graduated from Suitland High School in May of 1974, Patty began her Federal Career of 43 ½ years in 1975, at the Department of Treasury, after several years she moved to the Department of Interior, during this time she completed several certifications to advance her career at the Strayer College, then moving to the Department of Navy, finishing her Federal Career at the Department of Homeland Security in 2018, where she, her husband and Henry retired to Milton, Delaware.
Patricia married her beloved husband Samuel Lee Craddock, Sr. on December 29, 1983, in LaPlata, MD. In 1989 she began rescuing Retrievers, a total of 5, sadly Henry will be her last rescue. She loved her dogs. She enjoyed walking, and jazzercize, where she made many great friends. In 2020 she began surf fishing and loved to drive her Jeep on to the beach. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she has touched.
Patricia was preceded in death by her father Francis M. Showalter and her brother Claude E. Showalter, Sr. She is survived by her devoted husband Samuel Lee Craddock, Sr. of Milton, DE; her mother Janette Rose Showalter of Mechanicsville, MD; stepson Samuel Lee Craddock, Jr. of Lexington Park, MD; brother Francis A. Showalter of Nanjemoy, MD; sisters Carolyn I. (Albert) Petrillo of Lake Suzy, FL, Teresa M. Hampton of Mechanicsville, MD and Janette (Tim) English of Lexington Park, MD; and 7 nephews, 5 nieces, 10 great-nephews and 9 great-nieces as well as one great-great niece.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday May 22, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the American Legion Post 238 , 6265 Brandywine Road, Hughesville, MD 20637 .
