Patricia B. Caldwell Cheyney's Obituary
Patricia B. Caldwell Cheyney, age 76 of Lewes, DE, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 3, 2011 at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, DE. She was born in Chester, PA on November 14, 1934, daughter of the late John and Marie (Pitt) Bond. in addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Marie Bond.
Mrs. Cheyney was raised in Swarthmore, PA and graduated from Notre Dame Catholic High School in Moylan, PA. She was active in the Ridley Park, Boys Club of PA and was the Owner/ Operator of Caldwell Models in Philadelphia and Swarthmore, PA. She was also an instructor at Marple Vo- Tech School. After moving to Lewes in 1993, she was the Owner/ Operator of Country Lane B & B and active in the Beebe Medical Center Auxiliary, ie: The Beebe Thrift Shop. She was also a member of the Sussex County Red Hat Society, St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church and enjoyed traveling.
She is survived by her husband of 22 years, William G.. Cheyney of Lewes, two sons: John P. Caldwell and his wife Florence of Swarthmore, PA and Chris B. Cheyney of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; three step children: Cynthia E. Cheyney of NJ, Susan C. Dudo and her husband Jack of Folcroft, PA and Richard P. Cheyney and his wife Jon Ellen of TN; former husband: John A. Cladwell of Chester, PA, two grandchildren: Ken Caldwell and his wife Christina of Philadelphia, PA and Stacy Caldwell of Concordville, PA and two step grandchildren: Tyler D. and Cody W. Cheyney of West Chester, PA.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebtated on Friday, July 8, 2011 at 11:00 AM at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes. ( just north of Five Points). The family will greet friends at the church beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contrubitions are suggested to: Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
