Patricia A. Beggarly's Obituary
Patricia A. Beggarly, 80, passed away peacefully at her home in Lewes, Delaware, on May 19, 2025.
Born in Davenport, Iowa, on September 27, 1944, Patricia was the daughter of the late James and Mary (O’Connor) Lawton. She dedicated her life to caring for others, beginning with her education in nursing school, where she became a certified Practical Nurse (LPN). Her long and accomplished career included serving as a manager at the American Red Cross Donor Center for 25 years, working as an OB nurse at Franklin Square Hospital, and volunteering as an EMT with the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company in Maryland.
Patricia was a woman of many passions. She was a voracious reader, a lover of animals, and a devoted fan of music—always eager to sing along. She also found joy and solace in needlework. Her warmth, generosity, and strong spirit touched everyone who knew her. She gave freely of her time and love to family and friends, and her presence will be deeply missed.
In addition to her parents, Patricia was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Mary Jo Lui. She is survived by her son, Timothy Cooper and his wife Tara, and her cherished granddaughter, Bridget Cooper, all of Harbeson, DE. She also leaves behind her brothers, Joseph Lawton (Elaine) of Baldwin, MD, and Michael Lawton of Blue Ridge, GA; her cousin Cathy Rossetti of Lewes, DE; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. Jude The Apostle Catholic Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes, DE where family and friends can visit from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass. Private family entombment.
