Pamela Lynn Rutherford's Obituary
Pamela Lynn Rutherford, a beacon of light and love, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2024, in Lewes, DE. Born in Wilmington, DE, on September 30, 1970, Pamela's infectious enthusiasm and genuine kindness touched everyone she met throughout her 53 years of a life well-lived.
Pamela's professional journey was marked by her exceptional talent in marketing and public relations. She dedicated many years to enhancing the visibility of Clean Delaware, the Rehoboth Beach Chamber of Commerce, and Kings Creek Country Club. Her entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly as the proud owner of Skippers, a beloved local business where her homemade dog biscuits were a staple at the Rehoboth Beach Farmers Market every Tuesday.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Pamela was deeply passionate about her hobbies and interests. An avid runner, she once graced the streets of Rome, Italy, completing a marathon with the same determination and grace she applied to all aspects of her life. Her love for the outdoors extended to biking, boating, and paddleboarding, always finding joy in the simplicity of a day spent at the beach.
Pamela's devotion to the canine community was unparalleled. Her involvement in dog agility was not just a pastime but a significant part of her identity. She was an active member of the Blue Heron Kennel Club, AKC, and Salisbury Kennel Club, where her contributions were both valued and celebrated. Her commitment to her furry companions was evident in every obstacle course navigated and every jump cleared with her trusted dog, Dash, by her side.
Her spiritual life was grounded in her membership at Solid Ground Church, where she found solace and strength in her faith. Pamela's beliefs were a guiding force, providing her with comfort and a community that shared her values and zest for life.
Pamela was the loving center of her family, a cherished daughter, sister, aunt, and great-aunt. She leaves behind her devoted dog, Dash, and her mother, Marlene Rutherford. She will be deeply missed by her sisters, Diane R. Kirk (David) and Shirley Knox (Daniel). Her legacy will continue to be honored by her nieces, Heather Kirschner (Jay), Christine Collins (Kevin), and Danielle June (Michael); nephews, D. Keith Kirk the ll (Lauren), and Andrew Knox (Andi); and her nine great-nieces and nephews who adored her. Pamela was predeceased by her father, William T.
