Orilee R. Lohman, age 74, of Rehoboth Beach, DE, died suddenly at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, DE on October 22, 2007. Mrs. Lohman was born on December 15, 1932, in Edgewood, PA, daughter of the late Charles T. and Laura Sloan Roller.
Mrs. Lohman was a 1950 graduate of Edgewood High School, PA (a suburb of Pittsburgh). She later graduated with her BS degree from Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA and she earned her Masters in Music Education from Penn State. For ten years she was a music teacher in Everette, PA and served as Choral Director for 20 years at Shiloh United Church of Christ in York, PA. Also, during this time she had served as a substitute teacher for various York Suburban School Districts. She loved going to the beach and she enjoyed traveling extensively with her husband. She also liked playing cards and was an avid reader. Her grandchildren were a joy to her and she devoted herself to them.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Joseph L. Lohman; two daughters, Amy Stranix and her husband Frank of Glassboro, NJ and Stephanie Olsen and her husband John of Abington, PA; a brother, Richard Roller of Pittsburgh, PA; and three grandchildren, Nicholas Stranix, Erica Stranix and Gabrielle Olsen.
Funeral Services will be held at Bethel United Methodist Church, West 4th Street, Lewes, DE on Saturday, October 27, 2007 at 11:00 AM where friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Bethel Methodist Cemetery, Lewes, DE. Officiating will be Rev. Dr. James T. Olsen. Friends may also call at the Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, on Friday, October 26 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Lewes Public Library, 111 Adams Avenue, Lewes, DE 19958 or to Lewes Senior Center, 310 Nassau Park Road, Lewes, DE 19958 or to Cape Henlopen Senior Center, 11 Christian Street, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971.
