Norris Musgrove's Obituary
Howard H. Seymour passed away peacefully at his home in Lewes, DE on Sunday December 4, 2005. Mr. Seymour leaves behind his daughter Julia and her son, Matthew of Tillamook, OR; his son Curtis and wife Jill and their son Neal currently of Seaford, NY; and his best friends Ruth Anne Ritter McMahon and her husband John McMahon.
Mr. Seymour was born in Philadelphia, PA on March 23, 1926. Early in his career he was a dairy farmer in Carlisle, PA after receiving a degree in Animal Husbandry from Penn State. His family vacationed in Lewes when he was young and he moved to Lewes permanently in the 1950's. He was a Marine Advisory Agent at the College of Marine Studies in Lewes until early retirement in the late 1980's when he took up a new career as a Class IV Wastewater Treatment Operator at the Lewes Board of Public Works Treatment plant until his retirement there in 1993. He was well known for his dedication to the City of Lewes and the Board of Public Works where he served on the Board from 1976 through 1986, and again from 2000 until his death. He was also Ex-Officio to the Lewes Planning Commission where he represented the Board of Public Works. He was a member of the Lewes Presbyterian Church, as well as the American Legion Post 17 where he belonged as a veteran of World War II.
