Memories of Norma Young:
I am so grateful for having had a dear friend like Norma for so many years. John and I met Norma and Frank’s family in Europe at a military base in Belgium. We joined them in a Christian Bible Study and continued as friends into retirement in Washington, DC.
Norma was instrumental in getting me involved in Real Estate. We met each so often for lunch. We both were former school teachers and also shared that in common. Norma's Real Estate was in Virginia and mine was in Maryland. Also, our outings together as couples, were always delightful And, we were very pleased to see Norma and Frank in our church on Sundays.
I so appreciated having had a caring friend who not only shared our military heritage but also a sister in Christ, Norma’s husband, Frank was our daughter, Connie's and son, Guy's Sunday School teacher in SHAPE Belgium. Connie remembers when Frank had their daughter Jennifer come speak to the sunday school class about archeology and her faith. Guy also enjoyed knowing Norma's son, Doug during high school and Guy looks forward to seeing Doug again, soon.
Norma's husband, Frank was helpful in getting our daughter Connie, a summer internship at the American Chemical Society in DC, in their graphic design department while she was in college.
Loved the fact that Norma connected with my daughter when she visited Arizona - both Norma and my daughter Connie, share a love of Frank Lloyd Wright’s architecture. Norma invited Connie to tour Taliesin West together with her, which is a Frank Lloyd Wright winter home and school in Scottsdale Arizona.
Our prayers are for Frank and the family, that they will have peace knowing that Norma is at home with the LORD.
My friend, Norma was such a joy and a blessing to me, a gift from God.
Love to you All, Barbara Hocker
