Norma Lee Truitt's Obituary
Norma Lee Truitt, age 84 of Lewes, DE passed away on Friday, December 17, 2010, at Harbor Healthcare & Rehab. Center in Lewes, DE. She was born on March 26, 1925, daughter of the late Daniel W. and Florence M. (Alsdorf) Stauffer.
Prior to her retirement in 1996, she was a cashier at the Lamp Post Restaurant, formerly of Rehoboth. She was active with the Ladies of the Elks for many years with her late husband J. Martin Truitt. She will be remembered for her outspoken nature and for being loved by all that she met, young and old. She was an avid artist and painted many canvases that have been gifted to those who passed through her life. She loved dancing and music and will be remembered for "cutting the rug" in her youth.
Surviving are three children, Daniel B.Truitt of Auburn, WA,, Lisa T. McAllister and her husband Byron T. of Queenstown, MD and Rowland E. Truitt, one brother, W. Emerson Stauffer and his wife Doris of Milton, DE, one sister, Velma A. Davidson and her husband Joseph of Milton, DE, five grandchildren, Christina N. Truitt, Joshua A. Truitt, Allison L. Truitt, Nicholas R. Truitt and his wife Katherine and Ashlie N. Truitt, and three great grandchildren, Keona, Ryan and Cameron.
In addition to her husband, Norma Lee was preceded in death by three sons, Joseph M., Larry L. and K. Dale Truitt, one brother, Lester A. Stauffer and sister, Pearl M. Workman.
All services will be private. Arrangements by Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes, DE.
