Neil called sometimes and we would talk.
The world needs more men like Neil.
My Father, Harvey Roberts and I stopped by to see Neil on October 22 and spent some time visiting him.
We are so glad to have seen him as my grandfather was a good buddy and neighbor to Neil.
His name was Charlie Bryan.
He and Neil worked on boats together and talked about the war.
They swapped magazines and Charlie shared his garden vegetables with Neil.
They worked together at Selbyville Manufacturing where the car wash is presently in Rehoboth.
Neil went with us to Charlie's wife's funeral.
He was a gentle kind man and we will miss him.
From the little girls of Jackson Street who were not afraid to visit Mount Cuba because of your gentle spirit. Rest in Peace, dear Neil. We shall miss you!
I would like to offer my deepest sympathies to you. I am so sorry for your loss. Please know that you are never alone. Turn to the Holy Scriptures for guidance and to help soothe your heart. Psalms 34:18 assures us that God is near to those broken at heart and crushed in spirit. Please accept my deepest sympathies.
I know Neil will be happy to rejoin his beloved Rose in heaven.
From his neighbor and one of his old sailing buddies.
Gods speed my friend, stop over in purgatory but I'm sure you'll make the Hall of Fame on the first ballot!
Neil was a great untroubled soul and told me that he had a good life. Besides teaching me how to solder copper pipe, he also had six years worth of great war stories about WWII, in which he was an early radar specialist and worked his way from Pasadena, CA before Pearl Harbor all the way to North Africa and up the boot in Italy.
Neil,the quiet man.
Peace, Neil.
