At our classes 50th reunion I had hoped that Neal would"surface" because
What I remember about Neal was his encouragement to me, as a Sussex County “down homer”, to continue pledging during the 1959 Spring semester year and also how he literally saved my life by driving at over 80 mph from Newark to Wilmington General Hospital in the late Fall of 1960 when I experienced an attack of appendicitis after a Saturday night of partying. Fortunately, his quick thinking got me an emergency operation before my appendix ruptured. He also visited me in the Hospital during this time. After graduating in 1963, I lost touch with him and many ATO brothers and would have like to attend the recent reunion. Neal’s passing at age 76 is a reminder to us all that God has numbered our days on earth and we need to take advantage of each day as a gift. May God comfort his family at this time.
Neal's ATO Fraternity brothers are too saddened by his passing. Neal pledged in '57 and graduated Delaware in '60. He and I were in the same pledge and graduating classes. He was VP of our house...and brought the prettiest (short) girls to our Fraternity parties. We bros had hoped for more details of his life, to share as we mourn. Some of us wish we could be at his service. God Bless.
Its with deep sadness I read of Neal's passing. He was a very kind gentleman and was very helpful to me while I was researching both his parent's genealogy. He will be missed.
