Natalie A. Skipper's Obituary
Natalie “Noots” A. Skipper, age 49, of Milton, DE passed away at her home on Tuesday, January 4, 2011, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with bladder cancer. Mrs. Skipper was born October 17, 1961 in Minot, ND, daughter of Mary (Yanchuk) Johnson and the late Keith Johnson.
Mrs. Skipper was a former employee of the Lewes Yacht Club and the Lighthouse at Lewes. She was known for her volunteer work across the community at schools, Milton Elks Lodge, American Legion Post 28, and most of all for the years of service she dedicated to Lewes Little League. She loved her dogs and playing all types of poker, especially in Atlantic City and at Poker at the Beach in Rehoboth Beach, DE. Mrs. Skipper loved being a Baseball Mom; she never missed her children’s games and loved spending time with her family and watching them grow up. She was known by many for her famous Chocolate Bark and other sweet treats. Family and friends always knew where to go if they wanted something sweet; however, her sweetest trait of all was her warm heart, bright smile, and open arms for all.
In addition to her father, Mrs. Skipper was preceded in death by her dogs Reba and Amber. In addition to her mother she is survived by her husband of 25 years, Patrick “Skip” A. Skipper; sons: Shawn A. Skipper and Justin K. Skipper; brother: Keith Johnson and wife “PJ” of Baltimore, MD; sisters: Dawn Ogle and husband John of Tampa, FL, Diane Benson and husband Jay of Morgantown, WV, Mellissa Schiren and husband Jerry of Baltimore, MD; and her dogs: Chelsea, Josie, and Tank.
A Celebration of Mrs. Skipper’s Life will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2011, 4:30PM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE 19958, where friends may call beginning at 3:00PM.
