Nancy June Yngstrom's Obituary
Nancy June Yngstrom, age 70 of Lewes, DE, passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at her home. She was born on June 26, 1952, in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late William and Mary Schulenburg.
Nancy was a nurturing and caring person, which led to her career in nursing. She worked as an LPN at Franklin General Hospital for 27 dedicated years, until her retirement in 2000. She was very involved in her community, acting as president of the Friends of North Merrick Public Library, secretary of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Girl Scout Leader, and class mom, during different stages of life. Nancy had many different interests and hobbies. An avid reader, the library was one of her favorite places to pick up the hundreds of books she read over the years. She was skilled at needlepoint, enjoyed a good cup of coffee, and remained loyal to her hometown NY Mets. Nancy’s sense of adventure never waned, and she thoroughly enjoyed traveling to see new and exciting destinations, particularly in Europe. Above all, she cherished time spent with those she held most dear, especially her adored grandchildren. Nancy was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Loved by many, she will be forever missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.
Nancy is survived by her beloved husband of 47 years, Patrick Yngstrom; her children: Daniel Yngstrom (Rebecca) of Lewes, DE and Dawn Perniciaro (Vincent) of Lewes, DE; her grandchildren: Abby, Sofia, and Caroline Perniciaro; and her sister, Rosemary Schulenburg of Rocky Point, NY.
