Nancy Jane Wittrock's Obituary
Nancy Wittrock (Nash) gained her angel wings on December 10, 2023, in her home in Lewes, DE, surrounded by her loving family. Nancy lived a wonderful 97 years.
To be a part of Nancy's life was to be loved unconditionally and supported in every way. Not a day went by where she didn't talk about how much her children and family meant to her-Nancy’s family was arguably her most important achievement in life and she loved being a “Nana” to all of the children.
Nancy was talented in many aspects of her life. She was a master seamstress, an avid gardener, and a woman of Catholic faith. She loved doing crossword and word search puzzles and loved spreading joy and humor with those around her.
Her life began in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, as one of five children (Charlotte, Pat, Connie, and Gray) born to Joseph and Anna Nash. In 1950, she married her late husband, Herb Wittrock, and had two children (Rhonda and Mark). They lived in Rapids for the next 42 years until her husband’s death in 1992.
She loved the warm weather, and, in 1993, she moved with Mark to Florida, to be near her sister Connie. They lived next to each other for the next 30 years and were like twins. They spent everyday walking in the beautiful weather and eating dinner together. Nightly “high test” drinks were part of their tradition and provided many opportunities for creating wonderful memories.
Nancy is survived by her son Mark Wittrock, her daughter Rhonda (Brian) Haller, her grandchildren Andrew (Kala) Haller and Morgan (Joshua) Ballard, and two great grandchildren Nolan and Fletcher Haller, as well as countless nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Those of us who were Blessed to be touched by her understand that her existence and the imprint she left on our hearts will be with us forever.
