Nancy Holden Smith's Obituary
Nancy Carole Holden-Smith, age 75, of Milford, DE, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2015 at Bayhealth Kent General Hospital in Dover, DE. She was born in Magnolia, DE on March 19, 1939, and daughter of the late Marshall V. and Frances Morgan Hart.
Nancy attended Caesar Rodney High School in Camden, DE, graduating in 1956. She furthered her studies attending the University of Delaware.
Nancy enjoyed a lifelong career as Accountant, Auditor and Bookkeeper for many local businesses. She was a Volunteer Choir Director and member of Union United Methodist Church in Bridgeville, DE. Nancy also enjoyed participating with The Singing Players where she performed and sang. She was a 50 year member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
In addition to her love of music, Nancy's passions in life were her home, traveling the world over and antiquing. She was the proprietor of her own antique store, Serendipity, which was located in the Bridgeville/Greenwood area.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Keith Steven Luton and by her first husband, Keith E. Holden. Nancy is survived by her second husband, Donald L. Smith; her son, Clyde J. "Skip" Luton III of Dover, DE; her daughter, Lori Ropelewski of Richmond, VA; five grandchildren, Lt. Matthew G. Ropelewski of Ft. Hood, TX; Nathan T. Ropelewski and Jamie B. N. Ropelewski both of Midlothian, VA; Brittany M. Luton of Sandusky, OH and Emily F. Luton of Virginia Beach, VA and one brother, W. Wayne Hart and his wife Joan of Bridgeville, DE.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Union United Methodist Church, 2 N. Laws Street, Bridgeville, DE, where friends may call beginning at 11 AM. Interment will be at 10 AM on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Barratt's Chapel Cemetery in Frederica, DE.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Choir of Union United Methodist Church.
