Nancy Jo Caddell's Obituary
Nancy Jo Caddell, 82, of Ocean View, Delaware, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2025. Born on December 21, 1942, in New Albany, Indiana, she was the daughter of Robert Dalby and Mary Louise (Huth) Bir. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who was known for her kindness, generosity and vibrant spirit.
Nancy married James Earl Caddell, July 18, 1970, and together they shared many happy years of love and companionship. She worked as a benefits adjuster for Social Security dedicating herself to helping others. Nancy was also a proud and active member of the Delaware Deaf Senior Citizens and a strong supporter of the deaf community, always striving to make a positive impact.
A woman of many talents, Nancy had a passion for arts and crafts, particularly quilting, and her creative works were admired by all. Above all, Nancy was a sweet, caring, and joyful person and always there to lift others up and make them feel good. Her warmth and loving nature touched the lives of all who met her.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Dalby and Mary Louise (Huth) Bir. She is survived by her devoted husband, James Earl Caddell; son, Mark Caddell; daughter, Joni Carlton (Eric); and grandchildren, Connor and Ryder Carlton. She is also survived by her sisters: Sr. Barbara (Bobbie) Bir, Jackie Herold, Stevie Molter, Chris Corrigan, and Terie Harper, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Nancy’s love and joy will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
