Nancy B. Horneck's Obituary

Nancy B. Horneck, age 89 of Milton, DE passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2019, at her home. She was born in Woodbury, New Jersey on October 3, 1929, daughter of the late Everett B. Boise and Jeannette (Wright) Boise. She was also predeceased by her husband George B. Horneck.
Nancy was a graduate of Plainfield High School in New Jersey. While in high school, she prepared for the Ice Follies where she performed in many cities throughout the US. The Ice Follies traveled by train from city to city and she enjoyed seeing this great country. It was her dream job.
Her first marriage of 20 years was to Allen J. VanderStaay and they had three children who all resided in Rockville, MD. Her second marriage was to George B. Horneck whom she married in June of 1975. They lived in Bethany Beach, DE before moving to Milton, DE where they lived for 40 years.
Nancy was a member of the Art Guild of Rehoboth and the Embroidery Guild of Sussex County. She was also an active member the Ladies Auxiliary of Beebe Hospital in Lewes for 40 plus years as well as a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church in Lewes, DE.
Mrs. Horneck is survived by her three children; Sharon Kneessi and her husband Donald of Annapolis, Maryland; Shirley Ewald and her husband Mark of Shade Gap, PA; and Gary VanderStaay and his wife Ramona of Seagoville, Texas; 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Nancy was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, faithful volunteer and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday July 20, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the Bethel United Methodist Church, 129 West Fourth Street, Lewes, DE. Burial will be private at Henlopen Memorial Park.
