Muriel T. Smith died on January 11, 2017 at Beebe Healthcare, Lewes, DE. She lived a long and interesting life. She grew up in Wilmington, Delaware but lived the last 16 years of her life in Rehoboth Beach.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her 2 daughters: Gayle Fitzgerald and her husband Keith of Rehoboth Beach and Kandi Farren and her husband Ray of Gatlinburg, TN; her 7 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and 3 more on the way. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, her brother, her sister and 3 grandchildren.
Mrs. Smith met many people through her years working for the Diamond State Telephone Company in Wilmington, the GSA in Philadelphia, and the Rose Garden in Rehoboth; though at the end of her days, her favorite companion was her little dog, Remi.
All services are private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in Mrs. Smith's name to either the Beebe Medical Foundation, 902 Savannah Rd., Lewes, DE 19958, to honor the excellent care she received there, or to the Sunday Breakfast Mission, P.O. Box 352, Wilmington, DE 19899, one of her favorite charities.
