Milton "Milt" Logan's Obituary
Milton "Milt" Logan, age 88, of Lewes, DE passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 5, 2012, at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. He was born December 16, 1923, in Columbus, OH, son of the late Leonard Brady and Naomi Frances (Kreemer) Logan.
Mr. Logan honorably served his country during WW II with the U.S. Army. He enjoyed a long career with Giant Food of Landover, MD serving as a Store Manager throughout the District of Columbia and Maryland. He retired in 1984 with a reputation for being dedicated to the company and well respected by his employees. Following his retirement, he pursued his passion for the food industry by owning and operating two delicatessens and a restaurant in Maryland.
Milt was an active member of Groome United Methodist Church who took responsibility for coordinating the church plant sales. He loved all sports, especially golf and the Redskins; he was an avid fisherman and was dedicated to Meals on Wheels. He particularly enjoyed going to flea markets and auctions with his wife, Betty.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Logan was preceded in death by his daughter, Beverly Jean Logan (1952). He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Elizabeth "Betty" Marie (Downing) Logan; his son, David Earl Robinson of Bowie, MD; his daughter, Barbara Dianne Vargo of Selbyville, DE; six grandchildren: Tara, Mara, Cara, Sarah, David, Jr. and Kimberly; his sister, Lilly Keys of San Bernardino, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 9, 2012, at 11:00 AM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes where friends may visit with the family beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will be on Tuesday, April 10, at 11:00 AM at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Groome United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 299, Lewes, DE 19958.
