Michael Roger Stern's Obituary
Wherever there were fast or classic cars, you’d find Mike—walking around, admiring each one with a careful eye. Between weekend car shows and countless car magazines, his weekends were always full.
Another great love of Mike’s was desserts. He was never too full for puddings, pies, cakes, and all things sweet. Somehow, the calories never seemed to catch up with him.
Michael “Mike” Roger Stern passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, after a long and difficult battle with Parkinson’s disease. He endured the illness bravely for many months. Mike was a devoted husband to Beverly for 59 years, never once raising his voice—a gentle and steady presence throughout their life together.
He graduated from the University of Maryland while working full-time for Giant Foods in Silver Spring, MD, where he spent much of his life. A natural-born salesman, Mike began his career selling World Book Encyclopedias and was soon promoted to sales manager. His career later took him to Chestnut Ridge, New York, where he worked for Coca-Cola Foods, and eventually back to Maryland, where he concluded his sales career with Staples in Federal Sales.
Mike was a proud and loving father to two sons, Darren and Jason Stern, and found immense joy in spending time with his cherished grandchildren, Cody and Summer Stern. He is also survived by two sisters, Sandra Stern and Judy Jeweler, along with many nieces and nephews who adored him for his genuine interest in their lives.
Michael’s absence will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved him. May he now be at peace, surrounded by light and love.
