Michael Francis O'Brien's Obituary
Michael F. O’Brien, 69 of Lewes passed away Friday, May 29, 2020, in the comfort of his home. Mike was determined to fight his battle with cancer, and lasted much longer than expected, by never giving up hope and pushing through life one day at a time. Mike loved life and his family. He was such a sweet, kind, and caring soul. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
Mike enjoyed many things, but was especially fond of cars, fishing, cruises, the Philadelphia Eagles, and was a proud participant and team member of Pumkin Chunkin. In addition to his hobbies, Mike loved his job at Tanger Outlets, and was even honored with a reward for loyalty in 2018. Mike also really enjoyed being the Tanger Outlet mascot Tangerroo during his tenure.
Mike was preceded by his father Thomas E. O’Brien Sr.; his mother Louise Murphy O’Brien; his daughter, Rischel Renne O’Brien; his brother, Thomas O’Brien Jr, and his beloved dogs Ginger and Jack. He is survived by his sister, Patricia Ristine and her husband Rusty; his sister, Deborah Geary; his brother, Timothy O’Brien; his sister, Rita Tate and her husband Chris; his brother, Terrence O’Brien and his partner Dave; and many loving nieces and nephews. Mike was also survived by his life partner of over 22 years, Pam DiBiaso, and her children, Danielle Aguanno and her husband Mark, and their children, Dante, Gianni, and Nicolas. Nicole Scott and her husband Devin, and their children, Mia and Gia. Mike enjoyed being a pop pop and the grandkids were very present in his life and he always attended all their events. Mike also considered The Pumpkin Chunkin and Tanger Oulet community extended family. With great appreciation, we would like to thank Sussex Delaware Hospice, Tunnel Cancer Center, and all the doctors, nurses, and staff for their loving care.
