Michael Joseph Millard's Obituary
Michael J Millard 76, loving husband and friend also known as Mick or Mickey to friends and family, passed away peacefully with his wife and best friend by his side after battling cancer.
He was born in Jersey City, NJ in 1949 to Daniel and Katherine Millard. He is survived by his wife Sue of 42 years and his brother Daniel Millard.
He attended Marist High School and went on to attend Newark College of Engineering earning a degree in Engineering in 1971. Shortly thereafter he started working for the Army Corps of Engineers in NYC and worked there until he retired as a Project Manager after 42 years of service. He received the Commander’s Award for Civilian Service from the Department of the Army on August 20th 2014.
Mick and Sue met down the Jersey Shore in 1976 and married in 1984 and retired to southern Delaware. Mick enjoyed relaxing on the beach, going out to dinner, traveling and the NY Yankees. He had a dry sense of humor and was a kind person who loved animals.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Parsell Funeral Homes, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, Delaware. A viewing will be held prior to the service at 2:00 p.m.
