Michael L. McCarty's Obituary
Michael L. McCarty, age 61 of Lewes, Delaware passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, Delaware.
He was born July 15, 1951 in Lewes, Delaware, son of the late John M. McCarty, Sr. and Beverly Howarth McCarty of Lewes. Michael was also predeceased by two brothers, Richard and Patrick McCarty.
Mr. McCarty worked for 25 years at both the Delaware Correctional Center in Smyrna and later at Georgetown as a corrections officer, retiring in 2002. He was a former member of the FOP and enjoyed water skiing.
In addition to his mother Michael is survived by his daughter, Ragen Leigh McCarty of Newark, DE; brother Jack McCarty of Lewes, DE; numerous nieces and nephews; and his former spouse Cristine McCarty of Milton, DE.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday March 11, 2013 at the Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway Lewes, Delaware. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery - Pilottown Road, Lewes, DE.
