Michael Harry Jeffra's Obituary
Michael Harry Jeffra of Georgetown, Delaware, passed away suddenly on April 17, 2026, following a heart attack. He was born on August 30, 1944, in Baltimore, Maryland, to Harry and Martha Jeffra.
In his professional life, Mike was a jack-of-all-trades who always had a great story to share. He served proudly in the U.S. Army Special Forces (Airborne) with Company B, 19th Special Forces Group, as a medic and was certified as a Jungle Expert. Mike carried fond memories of his time later working at Pimlico Race Track. Until he retired, he found professional success installing fiber optic systems as a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Mike took pride in a job well done, often with a healthy dose of playfulness on the side.
Mike found joy in grilling (even if it meant clearing snow first), in gardening, and in working with his hands. You could also often find him at local auctions and yard sales, on the hunt for treasures and useful gadgets. Mike was a constant tinkerer with everyday things and loved planning and working on projects. An expert at relaxation, he was happiest in his beach chair on Assateague, listening to his AM radio or surf fishing. Lending a hand to others came naturally and without fuss to Mike, without hesitation, whether for neighbors or complete strangers.
Mike is survived by his daughter, Caroline Campolo-Jeffra; her wife, Désirée Campolo; their children, Robin and Willow; his daughter, Diana Jeffra, and her husband, Marc Denis; and his sister, Deborah Hake, her children, and grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations to Ellendale Volunteer Fire Company, P.O. Box 5, Ellendale, DE 19941, or Special Forces Administration Chapter 26, 36897 Jahnigen Drive, Frankford, DE 19945 (checks payable to SFA Chapter 26).
His daughters would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to the members of the public and all the emergency services who assisted Mike at the end of his life. He would have done the same for others.
