Michael William Hood's Obituary
Michael W. Hood, of Milford, Delaware, passed away peacefully at home at the age of 67.
Born and raised in Milford, Mike was the son of the late Howard T. Hood and Loy Hood (Jones). A proud graduate of Milford Senior High School, he spent much of his life working with his hands and heart—mainly in the autobody and landscaping industry. He was known for his creativity and independence, and for always being up for a challenge or a laugh.
An outdoorsman through and through, Mike found joy in nature. He loved hunting—ducks, geese, and deer—and fishing was a lifelong passion. He also enjoyed camping, cruising back roads, and simply being outside. Those who knew him well will remember his love of good company, shared stories, and the comfort of close friends and family.
Affectionately known by his close friends as "Hood," Mike was a loving, loyal, and good-hearted man. He cherished his longtime circle of friends and the quiet strength of a life lived on his own terms.
He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sister, Wendy Silicato (Mark) of Milford, DE; his nephew, Nicholas Silicato (Ann) of Hoboken, NJ; and his niece, Sarah Jones (Corey) of Charleston, SC.
Services will be held privately in accordance with his and his family’s wishes.
