Michael Dumal's Obituary
Michael Dumal of Lewes, DE, passed away at the age of 78 on Monday, September 24, 2012 at his residence. He was born January 28, 1934 in Schaghticoke, NY, son of the late Stephen Dumal, Sr. and Anna (Stanko) Dumal.
Mr. Dumal was employed in Fairfax Co., VA for 40 years with the Raytheon Co., formerly Melpar, retiring as a Contract Officer for Defense contracts. While employed with Raytheon, he also worked 20 years with Safeway in Fairfax. After relocating to the shore in 1994, Mike owned and operated Pam's Tan's for many years. Mike honorably served his country with the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Elks Lodge and American Legion Post #28.
When Mike finally allowed himself to slow down and enjoy life, he loved sitting on the beach and preparing wonderful feasts for family and friends. He grew up on a farm in New York and carried with him a love for the land. Every year he had great vegetable gardens and beautiful fruit trees. Mike was a Redskins season ticket holder and never met a stranger. His greatest joys in life were spending time with his lifelong companion Lucy, his friends and sharing his bounty from his vegetable garden with many.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Dumal was preceded in death by his lifelong companion, Lucy Conner and her daughters, Pamela and Dale; his brother Stephen Dumal, Jr. and his sister Alice Doner. He is survived by his grandsons Tommy Mansfield and Tony Bibb; his sister-in-law Agnes Dumal of Homosassa, FL; his brother-in-law James R.
