Michael Andrew Check Jr.'s Obituary
Michael Andrew Check, Jr. entered the Kingdom of Heaven on December 20th. He was born on March 11, 1940, in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and was the beloved son of the late Tessie and Michael Check, Sr.
After graduating from Liberty High School, Michael proudly served his country with four years of service in the United States Air Force. He spent the majority of his working career at Bethlehem Steel Company. Following his retirement, Michael continued to stay active, driving a paratransit bus for Palmeri Transit in Easton, Pennsylvania, for many years and later delivering auto parts for CarQuest in Nazareth, Pennsylvania.
In 2013, Michael and his wife, Karen, relocated to Lewes, Delaware. In his spare time, you could find Michael working on any project that involved tools.
Michael was preceded in death by his first wife, MaryAnn, and by his parents, Tessie and Michael Check, Sr.
He is survived by his loving wife, Karen; his stepdaughter, Amy; her husband, Marc; and his grandson, Eli. Michael is also survived by his brother, James; his niece, Jennifer; and her family.
Michael shared a special bond with the family’s mini schnauzer, Tyler, who could often be found snuggled up and napping by his side.
A private family burial will take place at Bethel Methodist Cemetery in Lewes.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Brandywine SPCA Georgetown, 22918 Dupont Blvd., Georgetown, DE 19947.
