Nancy Bosworth
Merrijane was my childhood friend and our families shared many happy memories together. She was a fearless leader, inspiring me in my first political action. We used to play in a large field bordering on our houses, and when we learned that the post war housing boom in that area was going to destroy our "cow pasture" and the beloved pollywogs we used to capture, Merrijane suggested we pass around our Save the Polliwogs petition, which we did to no avail. She had a fierce and lifelong love for animals. Once she went into a neighbor boy's backyard and set his snakes free. I will miss her wry wit and wisdom. I will always remember the summer we painted her first car red and cruised around town in "Jezebel."
My deepest sympathy to you all.
