Melinda Kaye Wilson Hohler's Obituary
Melinda Kaye Wilson Hohler, age 44, of Jacksonville, FL passed away on October 15, 2020 in Charlottesville, VA. She was born and raised in Columbia, MD and attended Hammond High School. Melinda earned a B.A., B.S., Criminology and Criminal Justice and Cell Biology and Molecular Genetics, and a PhD., in Analytical Toxicology at the University of Maryland. She practiced forensic toxicology for several years.
Melinda lived life to the fullest. She was joyful, often smiling and laughing, which was contagious to those around her. She was a fighter and battled through each struggle that life presented with grace and perseverance. Melinda had a huge heart. She loved her family immensely, was exceptionally generous, and wanted to help everyone she met.
Melinda is survived by her husband, Paul Hohler from Pittsburgh, PA.; her parents, David and Diane Wilson; her sister, Kara Hawkins; nephews Woodrow and Cooper Hawkins; and her brother-in-law, Randy.
Due to the ongoing COVID -19 pandemic, a memorial service will be delayed until the first anniversary of her passing.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the National Organization of Rare Diseases (NORD), ATTN: National Headquarters, CT Office 55 Kenosia Avenue, Danbury, CT, 06810, or https://rarediseases.org. Donations will be used to support research of Arteriovenous Malformations.
