Maynard Earl Ritter's Obituary
Maynard Earl Ritter, age 83, of Lewes, DE passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at Beebe Healthcare, in Lewes, DE. He was born October 12, 1932 in Elmhurst, DE. He was predeceased by his parents Maynard Ashley Ritter and Gladys Foster Ritter and by brothers Jack and Keith Ritter.
Mr. Ritter retired as a building supervisor after 34 years of service with the DuPont Company at the Chestnut Run Plant.
Known for always cruising around in his own boat, he also had completed 37 vacation cruises during his lifetime. His memberships included the Newport Lodge where he was a 32 degree mason and as a Shriner with the Nur Temple. He was also a member in the Armstrong Lodge NO. 26. and the Elks Lodge.
Mr. Ritter is survived by his loving wife of 60 years this November, Edna Ritter of Lewes, DE; his four sons: Richard Ritter (Susan) of Ocean View, DE, Donald Ritter (Susan) of Wilmington, DE, David Ritter (Kathy) of Millsboro, DE and Douglas Ritter (Kara) of Millsboro, DE; and his six grandchildren: Christopher Ritter, Amanda Ritter, Emily Ritter, Kyle Ritter, Zachary Ritter and Brittany Ritter.
Friends may view on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE 19958.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 06, 2016, at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. Dupont Pkwy, New Castle, DE, where friends may view beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Epworth United Methodist Church, 19285 Holland Glade Road, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971.
