Maureen Cardinale's Obituary
Maureen “Reen” (Carr) Cardinale, age 73 of Lewes, Delaware, passed away on November 5, 2022. She was born on May 12, 1949, in Trenton, New Jersey, daughter of the late Thomas E., Sr. and Martha (Burket) Carr.
Maureen was a long time Robbinsville, New Jersey resident until moving to Lewes, Delaware in 2019. She lit up every room and touched every heart. Maureen’s quick wit and wonderful sense of humor kept everyone laughing, while her huge heart and generous spirit kept everyone feeling loved. To know her was to immediately love her. Maureen built a career with the State of New Jersey, retiring after 41 dedicated years. She enjoyed playing cards, watching tennis and football, spending time with her loving family, and playing with her adoring goldendoodle, Stella.
In addition to her parents, Maureen was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur J. Cardinale; her brothers: Robert Carr and Thomas E. Carr, Jr; and her brother-in-law Robert Walter. She is survived by her son, Dr. Joseph Cardinale (Amir Baghery); her daughter, Lisa Cardinale (Joseph Cifelli); her sisters: Patricia Walter and Kathleen Chamberlin (Pete); her brother, Ronald Carr, Sr. (MaryAnn); her sisters-in-law: Suzanne Carr and Barbara Carr; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on November 17, 2022, at 10:30 AM, at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, 251 Franklin Street, Hightstown, NJ 08520. A private interment will take place at a later date, at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, in Newtown, PA.
