Matthew "Matt" Douglas Rafail's Obituary
Matthew "Matt" Douglas Rafail, 43, of Milford, DE, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 10, 2015 at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford, DE. He was born in Salisbury, MD on March 9, 1972.
Matt was a 1990 graduate of Woodbridge High School in Bridgeville, DE. He worked as an Electrician at Bilbrough's Electric, Inc. for over 20 years. The owners, Keith and Lisa Bilbrough, were not just his bosses but his extended family.
Matt was a sports enthusiast who was an avid Dallas Cowboy and Baltimore Orioles fan. He enjoyed playing men’s softball and he assisted with the Lady Blue Hens, his daughter’s softball team.
Matt was a devoted father of Tana M. Rafail, age 16, from Bridgeville, DE. Matt is the son of Waddia Rafail, Patricia (Fedder) Zott and stepmother Arrena Rafail.
In addition to his parents and stepmother, Matt is survived by his loving companion of 10 years, Cathy Rogers and her daughter Madison R. Rogers. He is also survived by three brothers and two sisters, Eric M. Rafail and his wife Stephanie; Gregory S. Rafail and his fiancée Heather Orzechowski; Clinton W. Rafail and his wife Meredith; Angela L. Hutton and her husband Brian and Rebecca S. Rafail. Matt was lovingly referred to as “Uncle Matt” by six nieces and nephews.
He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws Street, Bridgeville, DE 19933. Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 14, 2015, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium. Friends may call beginning at 10:00 AM where friends. Interment will be private.
