Maryse Neubrand's Obituary
Maryse Neubrand, age 85, of Lewes, De, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Beebe Healthcare, Lewes. She was born on October 5, 1929 in Springfield, MA, daughter of the late James A. and Dorothy A. (Tucker) Murphy.
Maryse spent her childhood in Dobbs Ferry, NY and attended college in Marymount, NY. She was an accomplished Interior Designer, working for J. H. Harvey and Ethan Allen Company in Peekskill, NY. In April of 1952 Maryse married the love of her life, Bill. The two would raise a family of four wonderful children in Peekskill, NY.
After retiring Maryse and her husband relocated to Ocean Pines, MD. In 2012 they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with family and friends at Baywood Greens Clubhouse in Long Neck, DE. Maryse stayed active in the Ocean City U.S. Power Squadron and was an active member of the Ocean Pines Boat Club. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed her time with the Ocean Pines Garden Club members.
Maryse and Bill would relocate to Cadbury at Lewes in 2010 where they would establish new friendships and enjoy the many activities at Cadbury. Her creativity and keen eye for decorating never left her. Residents and Staff alike, looked forward to Maryse's input on any decorating projects that may have been in progress.
Maryse was preceded in death by her loving husband Bill in 2012. She is survived by her four children, F. William "Bill" Neubrand, Jr. of Pasadena, MD; James H. Neubrand of Mahopac, NY; Nancy M. Neubrand of Peru, NY and Sue McPhilomy of Danbury, CT; seven grandchildren, Alison Davies; F. William Neubrand III; Lori A. Neubrand; Sheryl McPhilomy; James Neubrand, Jr.; Jason Neubrand and Colin J. Pope; two brothers, John T. Murphy and Charles Murphy; two sisters, Evelyn Nolan and Margaret Walsh.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Saturday, February 7, 2014 at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes, DE 19958, where friends may call beginning at 10AM. Interment will be Monday, February 9, 2015 at the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Tarrytown, NY.
