Maryanne Therese Caramanica's Obituary
Maryanne Therese Caramanica, age 90 of Chicago, IL, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, in her home in Georgetown, DE. She was born on December 3, 1932, and was the daughter of Paul and May Leoni.
Maryanne is survived by her sister, Sylvia, five of her children, Roma, Rodger, Harry, Christian, and Victoria, and her beloved daughters- and son-in-law, Marie, Katherine, Cheryl, John, and her cherished friend, Randy. She fought for, adopted, and raised her young grandchildren, Ari and Luke, after her daughter Leona was taken from her, and they will keep their mom's memory alive.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Harry and Rodger, Winston and Lauren, Cayman, Cameron, Croix, and Coel, and Tyler, and six great-grandchildren, whom she adored: Mackenzie, Trinity, and Phoenix, Harry Jr., Addie, Amora and Amiri Kai.
Maryanne's generosity of spirit and love, wisdom, and sense of fun cultivated many loyal and devoted friends who visited her across the eight states in which she lived, and they considered her their mom, sister, and family. She is survived by godchildren, neighbors, and the artists who were her students.
She is joined in heaven by her parents, May and Paul, siblings, little Billy, Bobby, Ed, and Bill, and her beloved husband and daughter, Harry and Lea.
