Mary Agnes Zackowski's Obituary
Mary Agnes Zackowski, age 92, of Georgetown, DE, passed away at Beebe Hospital in Lewes, DE on Saturday, December 3, 2022. She was born on January 13, 1930, in Philadelphia, PA, daughter of the late Joseph and Antionette (Urrico) Gallo.
Mrs. Zackowski married the love of her life, Ernest N. Zackowski in 1946, and together they shared many beautiful years. She had many interests and hobbies. Mrs. Zackowski loved playing bingo, and 500 rummy with her daughter, Cheryl, going to the casino, and dancing. She was an avid Phillies fan, and could often be found watching baseball, cheering for her favorite team. Mrs. Zackowski loved her husband and family and cherished time spent with them. She was a caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. Loved by many, she will be deeply and genuinely missed by everyone who had the good fortune to know her.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Zackowski was predeceased by her husband, Ernest N. Zackowski; her son, Sgt. Edward Zackowski; her daughter, Antoinette Klein; her great grandson, Sean McCarty; and 7 brothers and sisters She is survived by her children: Wanda Blatteau (Mickey) of West Grove, PA, Ernest T. Zackowski (Kathleen) of Middletown, DE, Cheryl A. Compton (Joseph) of Georgetown, DE; her 18 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; her 2 great great grandchildren; and her sister, Dolly Marino of Bensalem, PA.
A funeral service will take place on Sunday, December 11, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium Dodd-Carey Chapel, 307 North Bedford Street, Georgetown, DE where friends may call beginning at 12:00 PM.
