Mary P. Scott's Obituary
Mary P. Scott, age 93, of Bridgeville, DE, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 31, 2011 at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, Seaford, DE. Mrs. Scott was born January 30, 1918 in Philadelphia, PA, daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Milford) Price.
Mrs. Scott lived most of her life in the Philadelphia area where she was a member of the Hope Presbyterian Church. She worked as a receptionist for Dr. Karl F. Rugart. She was a member of the Philadelphia branch of the University of Pennsylvania Home Extension program and was a member of the University of Delaware Home Extension program and a member of the Atlanta Club. She moved to Sussex County some 10 years ago and continued her work with the Delaware Home Extension program. She was also a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church woman's club. She enjoyed knitting and sewing. Mrs. Scott was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles C. Scott, Sr. (1981), a son Brian P. Scott, great-granddaughter Melissa Sue Scott, and a sister Helen DiCarlo. She is survived by her son Charles C. Scott, Jr. and his wife Helen of Bridgeville; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a brother Robert Price and his wife Dorothy of Phoenix, AZ.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 3, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws Street, Bridgeville, DE. Friends may call at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 PM. Graveside Services will be held Friday, February 4, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Fernwood Cemetery, 6501 Baltimore Ave., Lansdowne, PA.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Trinity, Dublin Hill, United Methodist Church, 4381 Dublin Hill Road, Bridgeville, DE 19933.
