Mary Rynkowski's Obituary
Mary Ann Rynkowski, of Rehoboth, DE, formerly of New Castle, DE, passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2011, surrounded by her family.
She was born to the late Richard and Mary Scully on April 9, 1926, in Wilmington, DE, where she grew up and graduated from Wilmington High School. She married the love of her life, Charles “Caz” Rynkowski, Sr., on September 14, 1946, and raised their four children in Manor Park. She was a long-time member of Our Lady of Fatima Church and was a member of St. Edmond’s Church in Rehoboth for the last 13 years.
Mary Ann (Mom-Mom) enjoyed playing bingo, watching the Phillies and the Fighting Blue Hens, and listening to concerts at the Rehoboth Beach Grandstand and in Lewes. Her potato salad was “award winning.” She had a great sense of humor, a tremendous sense of family, and was the most wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend.
She will be dearly missed by Caz, her beloved husband of 64 years; her sons Chuck Rynkowski, Jr. (Karen) of Wilmington, DE and Rick Rynkowski (Barbara) of Rehoboth Beach, DE; her sister, Marguerite Wintermantel; her brother, Joseph Scully; her grandchildren: Chuck Rynkowski III, Rob Rynkowski, and Beth Ann Mathena; her sisters/brothers-in-law, great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She is also survived by a daughter, Patricia Bartholomew and her two sons. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her dear son, Bobby Rynkowski, and her brother, Jim Scully.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 28, at 11 am at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 801 N. Dupont Hwy, New Castle, DE, where family will greet friends at 10 am. Interment will be private. Arrangements by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes, DE.
