Mary E. Hoffman's Obituary
Mary Elizabeth Hoffman,age 93, of Dagsboro, DE, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Crozer Medical Center in Chester, PA. She was born in Chester, PA on November 7, 1921, daughter of the late Morris Whitehead and Catherine (Dever) LaRue.
She was a NASCAR enthusiast and an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan. Mrs. Hoffman also enjoyed gardening and reading. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and a dear friend who will be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Mary Hoffman was preceded in death by her husband, George L. Hoffman and three brothers. Mrs. Hoffman is survived by her four daughters, Tracy Hoffman of Frankford, DE, Janice Carpinelli and her husband William of Aston, PA, Sharon Brown and her husband Jerry of Swedesboro, NJ, Barbara Shaw and her husband Arthur of Manatee, FL, one son, Donald Norman and his wife Sharon of Dagsboro, DE; two brothers, Robert LaRue and George LaRue; five sisters Edna McGee, Myrtle Blizzard, Jean Tryens, Catherine Garvine and Emily LaReau; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren and many, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A gathering and reception will be held at Donald Norman’s residence, 30815 Longleaf Road, Dogwood Acres, Dagsboro, DE 19939 on Saturday, April 18, 2015 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Interment will be private.
Flowers are welcomed at 30972 Poole Court, Dogwood Acres, Dagsboro, DE 19939.
