Mary Elise Tyson's Obituary
Mary Elise Tyson, age 84 of Rehoboth Beach, DE, passed away on Friday, July 07, 2017, at Harbor Health Care & Rehabilitation Center, in Lewes, DE. She was born Monday, August 01, 1932 in Newark, DE, daughter of the late Dr. W. Clifford and Louise (Kaske) Witham.
Mrs. Tyson spent most of her life in Delaware County, PA and attended the University of Pennsylvania. For many years, she was the office manager for her husband's law firm. She was on the Board of Directors for Chester Day Nursery and was active in the United Way and PTA. A summer resident for fifty years, Mrs. Tyson made the permanent move to Rehoboth Beach with her husband in 2000. She was an avid reader, able to complete the New York Times crossword puzzle, and loved Rehoboth Beach and long walks with her husband. Her most cherished moments were those spent with her dear family and friends. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Tyson was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Allan G. Tyson Jr in 2013, and her brother William C. Witham. She is survived by her sons: Allan Robert Tyson and his wife, Terri of Chapel Hill, NC, John W. Tyson and his wife Tomi of Pensacola, FL, and William W. Tyson of Charleston, SC and Rehoboth Beach, DE; her daughter, Anne Tyson Schwab and her husband, Thomas of Coatesville, PA; her nine grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Jane Tyson Hewson; and her six nieces and nephews.
All services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Mrs. Tyson's memory to the Salvation Army: 110 South Bedford Street; Georgetown, DE 19947.
